Organizing Your Home to Light a Fire in Your Love Life

Do you want to jump start your love life? These simple ways of organizing your home will heat up your romance in no time. Find out simple things that you can do today to make your bedroom into a place for romance.

Organizing the bedroom in your home all comes down to one simple thing: Use your bedroom the way it is supposed to be used. There are two basic things that should be happening in your bedroom: Sleep and Romance.

If you have things in your bedroom that take away from one of these two things, ask yourself why you have them in the room. Now of course you are going to have clothes in your bedroom and things that help you get ready in the morning. When I talk about organizing your home and bedroom for romance, I am not talking about that. I am talking about trying to make your bedroom into a space that you use for craft projects, for your home office or as a second toy box in your home.

The bedroom is a bad place for your home office. The bill paying center of your home, which is usually what you use your home office for, and romance simply do not mix. Organizing your home so that you use a corner of the living room or the kitchen for your home office is a much better solution.

Same goes for craft projects that have made their way into your bedroom. It is great if you love doing craft projects. Just keep them out of your bedroom. When organizing your home, organize those craft projects far away from your bedroom. Having to wade through scrapbook supplies in order to get to your bed is a sure-fire way to kill the mood.

I have a daughter so I know that organizing your home so that all of the toys are in one place is difficult. But if your bed has become the unofficial second toy box in your home, there is a good reason why your love life is less passionate than you would like. It is hard to get in the mood for love when you have an action figure wedged in your back. If it is not bed sheets or you or your significant other, it does not belong in or on your bed.

And last but certainly not least (you are going to hate me for this one), get the TV out of your bedroom. Does watching the news before you turn in for the night really excite you? No? I did not think so. Not only is it bad for your love life to have a TV in the bedroom but it is bad for your sleep. Do you really want the last thing you see before you go to sleep for the night to be some news story about what went wrong in the world today? Would it not be a whole lot better to have the last thing you see before you go to sleep for the night be the face of your significant other? Organizing your home is about using spaces as they are meant to be used. And the bedroom is not meant to be used as a TV viewing center. Okay, so you do not want to get rid of the TV in your bedroom. I understand. Then at least limit the amount of time that the TV is on in your bedroom. Better yet, set a schedule for the TV in your bedroom. For example, it does not get turned on after 8 p.m.

Ceiling Fans – A Personal Review.

Frankly speaking, though it may seem pretty odd, but one of the first things that I noticed about the United States of America was that there were no ceiling fans here. I mean to a person who has grown up with ceiling fans all his life, the lack of them was a sore point. I still clearly remember the first time I saw a ceiling fan. I mean, I had always had a ceiling fan in every room of the house, but the first time I got up, close and personal was when I was around twelve years old.

Back then we had a servant maid who used to take care of the cleaning around the house. However, it so happened that one day, she didn’t show up as usual. And mom had planned a huge spring cleaning effort. So, without wasting any time in going on with her plan, she roped me in to assist her with the cleaning. And being small and quick (in her opinion, needlessly so) I was given the task of cleaning the ceiling fans. The first thing I did was place two chairs atop one another in order to reach the ceiling fan. That was the first time in my life when I went up to see the ceiling fan.

Something that looked so clean from below and provided so much air was a dirty piece of metal suspended from the roof. A big ugly hook answered my questions as to how the ceiling fan managed to stay on the ceiling. And below that hook, or rather, covering it was a plastic upturned bowl that seemed to do nothing more than collects dirt. And below this was the main part of the ceiling fan that included a big, round base from which three fin like objects protruded at obtuse angles. All of them had a fine layer of dust on top and solid grime attached to the edges. I held my nose, prayed that the chairs would stay upright and began the job of cleaning our ceiling fan.

This routine was repeated at least seven times. Yes Like I mentioned earlier, nearly every room had a ceiling fan and the livelihood room had two to cover the entire area. At the end of the day, I was pooped and exhausted. But the tiredness seemed to be worth it when mom made me a glass of cool lemonade and I sank into a chair as the ceiling fans I had cleaned steadily and continuously whirred round and round providing me with cool breeze.

Why Now is a Good Time to Buy a New Home

In most locations around the country, developers are in the process of reducing their supply of unsold new homes and recognizing that 2008 will not be as vibrant a year as in the recent past. Most developers will be setting their goals far more conservatively than in previous years. As a result, they will buy fewer lots and start fewer homes in order to avoid having a standing inventory. What does this mean for the person looking to buy a new home? New and used home prices have stabilized, interest rates have fallen, real estate has historically been one of the best investments, and this next year might present a good buying opportunity, especially for those planning for a long term investment in their own home.

The resale market was active in 2007 with more than 400,000 homes sold in California alone. There is no reason to believe that 2008 will not provide more of the same resulting in the opportunity for existing home owners to trade up into a new home, for renters to buy their first home or for investors to continue to purchase, rehab and sell or rent homes.

No one knows what interest rates will be in the future, but as of the end of 2007 they were once again nearing an all-time low. As of January 4, 2008, the average rate for a 30 year FRM was 6.42%; for a 15 year FRM 5.95% and a 1 year ARM was 6.08%. With the myriad of different loan types available for each buyer’s needs, interest rates will vary, so shop around. WDH Nationwide Mortgages, a national lender in all 50 states that uses over 350 FDIC banks to ensure the best loans for their clients, provides information on their web page for prospective home buyers to learn more about the types of loans available for potential buyers.

As an investment opportunity, Looking at the long-term history of stocks and bonds and real estate, it can be said without refute that owning a home is the most certain way one can accumulate long-term wealth. It’s amazingly dependable compared to other investing opportunities. And, better yet, you get to enjoy the benefits of living in this investment. Prices have stabilized and this next year might present a good buying opportunity.

There really is no reason to wait to buy a new home. WDH Nationwide Mortgages believes that nothing will change so dramatically in the economy in the next year that would dictate a “wait and see” attitude.” Waiting may only result in rising prices and rising interest rates. If one of your resolutions this year is to buy a new home, refinance your home, or consolidate your debt, 2008 could be among the best times to do any of these.
